Pinellas continues experiencing red tide conditions

January 3, 2023 - According to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission’s (FWC) daily sample map, bloom concentrations of Karenia brevis, the red tide organism, remain around Pinellas County. The organization’s latest update states that fish kills related to red tide were reported around the area throughout the past week, as was respiratory irritation. The University of South Florida-FWC red tide prediction model forecasts southeastern transport of subsurface waters in the coming days.
