Pinellas County adds 400+ Covid cases, approaches 1,000 deaths
December 21, 2020 - The Florida Department of Health reported 427 additional cases of Covid-19 in Pinellas County on Monday and two more deaths attributed to the virus. The county's cumulative total of cases since March now stands at 40,987. A total of 999 deaths in the county are attributed to Covid-19. The positivity rate for Covid-19 tests over the past two weeks has averaged 7.37 percent. As of Monday afternoon, Pinellas County hospitals reported 249 patients with a primary diagnosis of Covid-19, with just under 25 percent of total hospital beds available in the county. A total of 3,053 people have received a Covid-19 vaccine in Pinellas County since vaccinations began last week, according to the health department.
