Pinellas County hosting ‘Great Tornado Drill’ Feb. 9

February 7, 2022 - As part of Severe Weather Week, Pinellas County government officials are encouraging residents to take part in the Great Tornado Drill on Feb. 9, at 10 a.m. Participants should identify their source of emergency alerts and shelter, take cover and post a selfie to social media with the hashtag #PCTornadoDrill. County officials will select three winning social media photos, with winners receiving an emergency weather radio. According to Monday’s release, photos are judged on proper “duck and cover” techniques. Severe Weather Awareness Week runs Monday, Feb. 7, through Friday, Feb. 11.
