Pinellas participates in ‘Operation Southern Slow Down’
July 14, 2025 - The Pinellas County Sheriff's Office will participate in "Operation Southern Slow Down," an annual, week-long speed enforcement and public education campaign conducted in partnership with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and the States of Florida, Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina and Tennessee. Deputies will conduct saturation patrols in high-incident areas throughout the county. The goal is to reduce fatalities and serious injuries by targeting speeding and aggressive driving violations.
