Pinellas to lower tax rate for fourth time in five years
September 5, 2025 - Pinellas County Commissioners approved a tentative fiscal year 2026 budget Thursday that includes a property tax reduction for the fourth time in five years. They will hold a second and final public hearing Sept. 18 to adopt the tax rate and $3.7 billion budget. While the county already has the lowest tax rate in Tampa Bay, commissioners "found innovative ways to ease the burden on taxpayers."
