Police call St. Pete construction site shooting self-defense
November 2, 2024 - St. Petersburg Police investigators have determined that the fatal shooting of a general contractor at an under-construction home was self-defense. The incident began around 1:30 p.m. Friday when a general contractor and tile worker began arguing about compensation at 1400 Farragut Dr. N. The general contractor retrieved a firearm and threatened the tile worker, who was smashing completed work. Police say the tile worker’s father, also a subcontractor, acted in self-defense when he pulled his gun and shot the general contractor dead.
