Prescribed burn takes place at Boyd Hill
July 18, 2023 - Kissimmee Valley Foresters Inc., along with the St. Petersburg Parks & Recreation Department, conducted a prescribed fire at Boyd Hill Nature Preserve on today, Tuesday, at 10:30 a.m., according to an announcement from the city. These burn areas make up 40 acres of the preserve with trails. Access to all trails at the preserve will be closed. Prescribed burns are routinely done at the preserve as it minimizes the spread of pest insects and disease, improves habitats and promotes growth.
