Rays, Rowdies score for healthcare heroes
January 4, 2023 - Officials with Bayfront Health St. Petersburg announced Wednesday that the city’s two professional sports franchises teamed up to support local healthcare professionals. The Tampa Bay Rays donated $250 to the Bayfront Health St. Petersburg Foundation for every base stolen during the 2022 season. Stuart Sternberg is also the principal owner of the Tampa Bay Rowdies, which provided $250 for every goal scored. According to the press release, the combined donations totaled $21,000.
