Sam Burns wins second-straight Valspar Championship with clutch birdie

March 21, 2022 - Sam Burns sank a 30-foot birdie on the second playoff hole to secure a second straight win in dramatic fashion at the Valspar Championship at Innisbrook Resort Sunday. Burns now has three PGA victories after earning his first win at Valspar last year. After controlling the match through 16 holes, Burns, 25, needed the long putt in the playoff to defeat upstart Davis Riley. Both finished the round at 17-under par before going to extra holes. Burns earned $1.4 million for the victory, while Riley received $850,000 for placing second. Brooks Koepka finished tied for twelfth after shooting six-under in the final round. The PGA awarded $7.8 million for the Palm Harbor tournament
