Specialty retailer closes stores in Clearwater, Brandon, Wesley Chapel
July 15, 2019 - Three Charming Charlie stores in the Tampa Bay area are among hundreds nationwide that will close, after the company filed for bankruptcy. Store closing sales are underway at 261 stores in 38 states, including the stores at Countryside Mall in Clearwater, Westfield Brandon and The Shops at Wiregrass in Wesley Chapel. Charming Charlie, which sells jewelry and accessories, said in a court filing that it faced unsustainable operating expenses, including onerous leases, according to USA Today.
