SPPD issues 154 tickets in one day despite warning
July 19, 2025 - The St. Petersburg Police Department announced that a traffic operation Wednesday resulted in 154 tickets and 13 warnings, "even after the heads up." Over 30 people were caught driving 20 mph or more over the posted speed limit. The operation focused on 34th Street South, 31st Street South and the Pinellas Bayway.
