St. Pete/Clearwater named one of best places to live and work as a moviemaker
January 26, 2021 - St. Pete/Clearwater has made MovieMaker magazine's list of 2021 Best Places to Live and Work as a Moviemaker. It's the first Florida destination other than Miami, which was ranked eighth, to ever make the list. MovieMaker, a publication focused on the art and business of filmmaking, determined the winners using surveys, research on tax incentives and recent productions and personal visits to most of the locations on the list, as well as the best available information on how destinations are coping with the pandemic. Visit St. Pete/Clearwater Film Commissioner Tony Armer has put an emphasis on luring independent films to the area while also developing the local film community via workshops and supporting local film festivals. The rankings will be featured in Moviemaker's Winter 2020 edition, available Feb. 2.
