St. Pete names student ambassadors to Japan

May 16, 2025 - The City of St. Petersburg announced Friday that three rising high school seniors will continue a 37-year tradition by swapping cities, cultures and families in Takamatsu, Japan. Rachel Eeten (Osceola Fundamental High School), Jared Jackson (Lakewood High School Center for Advanced Technologies) and Jayda Parkes-Quarrie (St. Petersburg Collegiate High School) will participate in the 2025 Student Ambassadors for Summer Exchange Program. The students will speak before the Takamatsu mayor and city council, visit temples and learn about Japanese culture for two weeks in July.
