St. Pete property developer buys New York radio station

June 28, 2019 - A subsidiary of Red Apple Group has bought WABC Radio in New York for $12.5 million in cash. John Catsimatidis, owner, president and chairman of Red Apple, told the New York Post that he’s looking to buy more radio stations. Red Apple owns the two-acre 400 block of Central Avenue and currently is planning to develop a 40-story condo and a 20-story hotel on the site, according to St. Pete Rising.
