St. Pete restaurant’s fried onion dish draws Outback’s ire

June 21, 2024 - Outback Steakhouse’s parent company sent St. Petersburg’s Good Intentions a cease-and-desist letter once it caught wind of the vegan restaurant’s Onion Blossom dish. Good Intentions was selling its version of Outback’s Bloomin’ Onion as part of a temporary prix-fixe menu for Tampa Bay Restaurant Week. Bloomin’ Brands, Outback’s Tampa-based parent company, accused the local establishment of trademark infringement.
