Tampa man embezzles $240,000 from St. Pete Salvation Army

April 7, 2023 - The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Florida recently charged Kenneth Fowler, of Tampa, with embezzling nearly $240,000. He allegedly stole the money while working as a payroll coordinator at the Salvation Army Suncoast Adult Rehabilitation Center in St. Petersburg. According to the indictment, Fowler misdirected former employees’ direct deposit checks into his personal bank account from December 2013 until August 2018.
