St. Petersburg sets Christmas tree collection date

December 29, 2020 - The St. Petersburg Sanitation Department will collect undecorated Christmas trees during a free one-time citywide collection event on Saturday, Jan. 9, 2021. Collected trees will be turned into mulch, which is free to residents at the city's brush sites. All lights, ornaments, tree stands, plastic tree disposal bags and other decorations must be removed and trees placed for collection in the same location where trash is usually collected. Set out the tree before 7 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 9. If the tree is not set out during the one-time free collection event on Jan. 9, residents can  drop an undecorated tree off at one of the city's brush sites or arrange a special collection by calling the Sanitation Department at 727-893-7398 during normal business hours.
