State’s largest American Legion reopens after hurricanes
February 18, 2025 - American Legion Post 273, which sits just east of the 150th Avenue drawbridge leading to Madeira Beach, has reopened after over four months of storm repairs. Hurricane Helene pushed more than three feet of water into the building and decimated the patio, kitchen, stage, bathrooms and community area. The post, with over 11,400 members, is the largest in Florida.
