Tampa-based Vu Technologies opens Nashville studio

January 25, 2022 - Tampa-based startup Vū Technologies, known for its advanced virtual production soundstages, has opened its Nashville studio, the company announced on Tuesday. The new 16,000-square-foot Vū Nashville campus is the latest addition to the company’s portfolio of corporately owned virtual production studios. “Nashville has become an incredible destination for media and entertainment and we believe it is the perfect location to expand our network,” Tim Moore, Vū Technologies’ CEO and co-founder, said in the company's news release. The studio opening follows the news of Vū Technologies closing on a $10 million seed investment from Minneapolis-based ADX Labs Inc. in December. Vū has immersive virtual environments that allow actors to not have to travel to sites. “Vū is on a mission to make the world's largest virtual studio network. This is why it is imperative to offer several new studios along the east and west coast this quarter like Nashville and Las Vegas," Moore said. “We believe within five to 10 years the idea of shooting on location or with a green screen will be a thing of the past. The paradigm shift to shooting in virtual production studios will forever disrupt and improve the way content is made in the film and TV industry." By the end of 2022, the company plans to add campuses in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Atlanta, Orlando, Stanford and Toledo.
