Tampa lawyer played key role in Equifax settlement
July 22, 2019 - John Yanchunis of Morgan & Morgan's complex litigation group in Tampa was a member of the team that negotiated a $671 million settlement with credit bureau Equifax (NYSE: EFX) over a 2017 data breach. Yanchunis had previously worked on data breaches involving Yahoo and Sony Gaming Networks, according to a court filing in the Equifax case. The agreement includes a Consumer Restitution Fund of up to $425 million, a $175 million payment to the states and injunctive relief, Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody said in a news release.
