Tampa taps new economic opportunity leader
June 27, 2023 - The City of Tampa has named Javier Martin, former vice president of business development for the Central Florida Development Council, as its new director of economic opportunity. He will oversee small business navigation and resources, and act as a liaison to the city's economic development, tourism and foreign trade zone areas, according to a news release. He previously worked as an assistant director with the Florida Small Business Development Center at the University of South Florida.
