Ticketing system planned for new St. Pete Pier

June 30, 2020 - The city of St. Petersburg has announced details of a ticketing system for the opening week of the new St. Pete Pier. The Pier will debut July 6. There won't be a mass gathering due to the COVID-19 pandemic. but St. Petersburg Mayor Rick Kriseman said during a Facebook Live appearance Tuesday afternoon that he still want to ensure the opening is safe. "While much of the Pier is an extension of our waterfront park system and we encourage people to be outside, we still want to ensure the Pier is not overwhelmed in its early days," Kriseman said. "Further, all the restaurants and enclosed spaces at the Pier will abide by the same orders as the rest of the city. Masks will be necessary when indoors." Tickets will be issued for Monday, July 6 at 5 p.m. through Sunday, July 12 at 8 p.m. To reserve tickets, visit the City of St. Petersburg Pier website at StPetePier.org, navigate to the events page, and follow the directions listed. On Monday, July 6th only, parking at the Dolphin and Pelican parking lots via 2nd Avenue/Marina Way will be closed to the general public. Recommended parking for the pier's opening day is the Sundial Garage located at 117 2nd Street North, and the St. Petersburg Looper Trolly also will be in operation. The Dolphin and Pelican parking lots will be available starting Tuesday, July 7.
