Tropical Depression forms in the Gulf

October 5, 2024 - A Tropical Depression has formed in the western Gulf of Mexico and will likely strengthen into a hurricane as it heads east toward Florida, according to the National Hurricane Center. Saturday morning forecasting models show a hurricane hitting somewhere between the Big Bend area and Southwest Florida as early as Tuesday. Pinellas County residents should prepare for the storm’s impacts.
