USF business dean heads north

May 17, 2022 - The University of North Florida selected University of South Florida Muma College of Business Dean Moez Limayem to serve as its next president during a board of trustees meeting Monday. The appointment is pending the approval of the Florida Board of Governors, scheduled to meet on June 29 in Orlando. Limayem, with his upbeat and energetic personality, is a popular figure across USF. The dean is also a prolific fundraiser, helping the university to raise over $126 million dollars since becoming dean in 2012. USF President Rhea Law credited Limayem for elevating the school’s business education and research and said his “ability to connect with employers and quickly shape curriculum as our world changes have led to the creation of new programs in fintech and cybersecurity, as well as the addition of majors in supply chain management and personal financial planning.” Law plans to conduct a nationwide search for Limayem’s successor following his departure to Jacksonville.
