USF professor studies #WFH

April 29, 2020 - The National Science Foundation awarded a University of South Florida psychology professor a nearly $200,000 grant to study the rapid transition to remote work driven by the Covid-19 pandemic. Distinguished University Professor Tammy Allen is gathering data to examine adjustment to remote work with the intention of developing guidelines for future telecommuting in normal and in emergency situations, a news release from USF said. Allen is collecting data from full-time employees who don't usually telecommute. Each participant will be asked to fill out a survey each day for four weeks to help capture their day-to-day experience, attitudes and self-reported performance, so researchers can look for changes in adjustment over time. Allen and her colleagues will use the findings to develop evidence-based best practices that businesses can use to accommodate a remote workforce.
