Wages increase, employment stays flat in Pinellas County

August 19, 2020 - The average weekly wage in Pinellas County in the first quarter of 2020 was $997, a 3.5 percent increase from Q1 2019, according to newly released information from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. The local wage increase was above the national average of 3.3 percent for the same period. There were 441,900 people employed in Pinellas in March 2020, which was not a significant change from March 2019. Nationally, employment increased by 0.4 percent in March 2020 compared to the same month in 2019. Statewide, year-over-year employment increased by 0.8 percent, while wages were up 3.6 percent.
