Want to help protect monarch butterflies?

March 18, 2025 - The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS) will reopen the public comment period for a proposed rule to list the monarch butterfly as threatened under the Endangered Species Act. Monarch butterflies live in the Tampa Bay region year-round, and their population has dropped precipitously. The 60-day public comment period opens March 19 and closes May 19.
