WellCare, Centene set date for vote on acquisition

May 24, 2019 - Shareholders of WellCare Health Plans Inc. and Centene Corp. will vote June 24 on Centene’s planned $17.3 billion acquisition of WellCare. Centene (NYSE: CNC) will hold its shareholders’ meeting at its headquarters in St. Louis, while WellCare (NYSE: WCG) — one of the largest companies headquartered in the Tampa-St. Pete area — will meet at its attorney’s office in New York. The deal between the two managed healthcare providers is on track to close in the first half of 2020, a news release said.
