WellCare sells two Medicaid plans

September 26, 2019 - WellCare Health Plans Inc. said it will sell its Missouri and Nebraska Medicaid plans to Anthem Inc. WellCare (NYSE: WCG), a Tampa-based managed care provider, is divesting operations in the two states so it can be acquired by Centene Corp. (NYSE: CNC). The WellCare employees who operate and manage the Missouri and Nebraska plans will become part of Anthem (NYSE: ANTM), according to a news release. Financial terms of the WellCare-Anthem deal were not disclosed. That deal is subject to regulatory approval as well as the closing of the Centene-WellCare transaction, slated for the first half of 2020.
