Hustle (job)
I’m a remote consultant. I help people create content and manage their social media, and I build websites and sales funnels.
What do you do?
It depends what my client needs. Sometimes I am building landing pages to help lead generation, offering some type of lead magnet for people to grow their emailing list and really scale their business online. Sometimes it’s just content creation and I’m recording video and taking photos, sometimes it’s just posting online. So really anything digital. I love helping people take their business online and just grow and expand online.
Why do you do it?
I love entrepreneurship, I love seeing people live their dream life. I used to have a brick and mortar business, and I wasn’t happy in that specific business, I wanted to be remote. I love location freedom, I love time freedom, and so I’ve been able to manifest my dream situation where I can work from my laptop, I can work anywhere I want in the world. I want to help solo entrepreneurs create their dream life, whatever that means for them, and the internet has really allowed us to do that. So helping people grow their social media, helping people understand how to automate their business, and really scale how to have the life they desire.
What was your Catalyst? (How did you get started?)
After selling my brick and mortar business, I wanted to be fully remote. I took the skills I learned running my business and helped other entrepreneurs and solo entrepreneurs.
What’s a common misconception or unknown aspect of what you do?
That automating is easy. There’s so many courses out there that are like, “I made $30,000 in the last four weeks doing this!” It takes a lot of work, it takes a lot of strategy, and I don’t think a lot of people understand that strategy. That is a lot of what I do, helping people strategize, to maximize their presence online.
What’s the most challenging part of your Hustle?
Time management. Really prioritizing and making sure that the tasks that I’m doing are most effective and I’m also prioritizing the income generating task because we tend to put a lot on our plate. I’m making sure that I’m laser-focused because I don’t have a boss looking over my shoulder, saying “get this done.” Also delegating; delegating is really important in business.
What’s the most valuable piece of business advice/insight that’s helped you?
The most important advice that I learned is actually from a book by Robert Kiyosaki called Understanding the Cashflow Quadrant. The cashflow quadrant is E, B, S, and I. E is employee, S is self-employed, B is big business (meaning that you own a system), and I is investors. At the time, when I learned this lesson, I thought that I was a “business owner,” and Robert Kiyosaki says that if you cannot walk away from your business for three months, and have your business still operate without you, then you don’t own a business, you own a job. That hit me like a ton of bricks because I thought I owned a business, but I actually owned a job. So I wanted to create a business, which means creating a system that operates like a well-oiled machine.
What's next?
I’m really excited about a project I’m launching called Happy Hub. It’s a positivity app because I’ve realized that as much as social media is really amazing at helping people grow and connect on the surface, it’s really disconnecting us in real life. So I wanted to create something that brings people back to self love and self care, and really be happy beyond the facade they put on social media. It’s also for entrepreneurs, solopreneurs, and business owners take care of themselves – making sure their self-talk is positive or that they have a healthy mindset. I also will be offering affirmations if you’re trying to manifest something specific in your life.
