Meet Saving Our Seniors.
Saving Our Seniors was born out of founder Kelli Casto’s experience as a licensed occupational therapist assistant. Casto was seeing seniors floundering in the gap between their insurance coverage and their out-of-pocket limitations. Casto, a one-woman nonprofit provides medical equipment, incontinence supplies and other necessary items to seniors living below the poverty line. She services Pinellas, Manatee, Pasco, Sarasota and Hillsborough counties.
Casto founded Saving Our Seniors in 2016 in her one bedroom apartment. She began collecting gently used medical equipment and soon found that her apartment wasn’t large enough to hold it. She moved from a garage to a storage unit to a warehouse. Since 2016, Casto has helped more than 3,000 seniors and distributed 20,000 pieces of medical equipment in the Tampa Bay area.
