Meet Feeding Tampa Bay.

In 2019, Feeding Tampa Bay rescued and distributed 50 million meals. On any given day, Feeding Tampa Bay’s 40 trucks are traveling throughout the 10-county area, “rescuing” food that would otherwise be thrown away, from retail partners like grocery stores and even farmers themselves. That rescued food is then recycled and distributed to partners like local food pantries located in churches and schools, along with larger organizations like the St. Pete Free Clinic. Some of those foods even go toward Feeding Tampa Bay’s two locations of its full-service, no-cost restaurant, Trinity Cafe.

Feeding Tampa Bay knows that hunger happens to everyday people, every day. And it’s not abstract – hunger is a local problem. In Tampa Bay, one in six people are struggling with hunger and food insecurity. These one in six are neighbors, classmates, coworkers. Often hardworking people that don’t have enough to weather an emergency.

Feeding Tampa Bay is constantly iterating and partnering to expand its operations. They’ve partnered with PSTA to serve some of the agency’s largest and busiest bus stops, and are working toward opening their third Pinellas County Trinity Cafe location this spring.
