Arrest made in K’Mia Simmons murder

St. Petersburg Police announced Wednesday an arrest in the March 30 shooting death of 20-year-old K’Mia Simmons.

Tyron Jackasal, 20, has been charged with second degree murder. Simmons was in the passenger seat of a car, holding her 1-year-old child, on 

 

22nd St at 18th Ave. S. Simmons’ 2-year-old was in the back seat. Shots were fired from another car. The children, along with the driver, were not injured.

Jackasal was already in jail, facing a robbery charge.

Detectives thank everyone who sent tips and reward money to assist with this investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call the St. Petersburg Police Department at 727-893-7780
