Arts Alive! podcast: Author, journalist Craig Pittman

Today’s Arts Alive! podcast features a very funny conversation with author and journalist Craig Pittman, a native Floridian who’s managed to ferret out, and write about, the most absurd things about the Sunshine State – the so-called “Florida Man” phenomenon. And no, he never runs out of ideas.

Understandably, every conversation with Craig Pittman veers from the very funny to the absolutely hilarious.

The author of the bestselling Oh Florida!, The State You’re In and several other books (with serious subjects!) talks about the other things that motivate him, such as his 30-year career as the environmental reporter for the Tampa Bay Times, and his current work for the Florida Phoenix.

We also discuss his podcast Welcome to Florida (which is carried on the Catalyst website), and its growing (nearly 200 so far) catalog of interviews with Floridian authors, scientists, historians – and the occasional funny person.
