On this edition of the Arts Alive! podcast, we welcome David Flatt, the executive director of St. Petersburg’s Imagine Museum. It’s home to one of the most varied and extensive private collections of contemporary glass art in the southeastern United States.

Flatt arrived in March and hit the ground running, instigating or improving numerous events and innovative programming ideas. Night Market? Got it. Music on Tuesdays? Check. More tours? Bingo.

The recent collaboration between the Imagine and the Mahaffey Theater? Flatt was one of the most powerful engines behind it.

During this podcast, the engaging and educated Mr. F – he has BS degrees in history and anthropology, and a Master’s in history  – talks about his extensive career as a museum administrator, including:

Executive Director of the Kregel Windmill Factory Museum in Nebraska;

Executive Director of the Ford Piquette Avenue Plant Museum in Detroit;

Executive Director of the California Automobile Museum in Sacramento.

And there’s more much more. Click on the arrow to listen to the interview:
