Two of St. Pete’s finest songwriters and rock ‘n’ roll bandleaders are joining forces tonight at the Palladium Theater’s Side Door Cabaret.

Ed Woltil is a local native who played in a number of the bay area’s key “new wave” bands of the 1980s and into the ’90; as a solo artist, he’s made a handful of perfectly-executed pop records, and has been a member of the ultra-musicianly Florida Bjorkestra since its inception.

Kirk Adams arrived here from South Florida in the mid ‘90s, and remains one of the hardest-gigging players we’ve got. Adams is also an exemplary songwriter, whose high-energy shows are peppered with songs from his recorded catalogue.

Big surprise, they’ve known each other for years.

Woltil and Adams guest on this edition of Arts Alive! together, talking about their shared history, the musicians in their respective bands, and their views on the state of St. Petersburg live music since the storied Hideaway Café closed in 2022.
