Mary Kay Andrews, the St. Petersburg native who has authored 27 novels, many of them landing on the New York Times bestseller list, will sign her latest, The Newcomer, today in the courtyard behind Tombolo Books.

Following the 5:30 to 7 p.m. signing event, Andrews will be interviewed by Lisa Unger, another bestselling novelist and a resident of the Tampa Bay area.

Andrews, who left journalism in 1991 after a successful 14-years career, published her first New York Times best seller, Hissy Fit, in 2006. She and her family divide their time between Atlanta and Tybee Island, Georgia.

To date, her novels have been published in German, Italian, Polish, Slovenian, Hungarian, Dutch, Czech and Japanese. The Newcomer is set in Treasure Island.

The conversation between Unger and Andrews will also be livestreamed on the Tombolo Facebook page.
