ConnectWise beefs up C-suite
ConnectWise, a managed IT services provider and software developer in Tampa, has added four C-level executives to its leadership team.
The revamped leadership team will help ConnectWise execute its strategy to become the leading technology and services platform for technology solution providers, CEO Jason Magee said in a news release.
ConnectWise was valued at more than $1 billion when it was acquired earlier this year by Thoma Bravo, a technology-focused private equity firm. Since then, Magee, the former executive vice president, has been promoted. ConnectWise has made two acquisitions of its own, in what’s been described as a megadeal. The company also told an industry publication, Channel Futures, that it would significantly expand its operations and build out new office space.
The new leaders bring expertise in operations, finance, revenue and technology. All four will report to Magee. They are:
Geoffrey Willison, chief operating officer. Willison formerly was chief financial officer at Continuum. He brings an extensive background in corporate finance, financial planning and analysis, investor relations and global corporate strategy. Prior to joining Continuum, Willison was CEO at Valore, and served as COO and president of student marketing company Edvisors.
Brad Surminsky, chief financial officer. Surminsky brings more than 25 years of financial leadership to the position, along with extensive merger and acquisition experience with multiple private equity-backed, public and private companies. He previously served as CFO at D+H, ADP, ACNielsen Canada, and CentralSquare Technologies.
Clint Maddox, chief revenue officer. Maddox was formerly vice president, global partners, Broadcom Inc. He has more than 25 years of technology leadership experience, including 15 years in the service provider market, and has been serving as a strategic advisor to ConnectWise since July.
Steve Cochran, chief technology officer. Cochran has more than 30 years of experience leading technology transformation and operational excellence at companies such as Global Healthcare Exchange, OpenText/GXS, Innovis, Adaptec, Real3D, Lockheed Martin and General Electric. He most recently was the CTO at a former Thoma Bravo portfolio company, GHX, where he architected the strategy, development, and migration of the company’s core assets and customers to the AWS public cloud.
Two executives formerly with Continuum are not staying on with ConnectWise. Robert Kocis, who had served as Continuum’s chief revenue officer, is moving to a new opportunity at the end of this year, while Tasos Tsolakis, Continuum’s senior vice president of global service delivery, stepped down earlier this month, the news release said.
The rest of the ConnectWise leadership team remains in place.
