LSP upgrades to Mustard Seed Inn unveiled

The Leadership St. Pete (LSP) class of 2021 held a ribbon cutting ceremony Friday to showcase the drastic improvements it has made to the Mustard Seed Inn.

Owned by WestCare and located in the Grand Central District, the Mustard Seed Inn has been a beacon, for more than 20 years, for homeless people beginning their recovery from addiction and/or mental issues. In addition to temporary housing, it also provides counseling, case management, job support and numerous other services.

‘Traveling St. Pete’ from a woman’s perspective

Written and illustrated in a light, breezy style, Traveling St. Pete: A Girls Guide is a book for visitors and residents alike to get the most out of the city – and not just downtown.

The slim volume, published by St. Petersburg Press, takes an entirely feminine perspective on restaurants, shops, spas, bars, museums, parks and more. It’s “a fun, whimsical way for girls – women, specifically – to experience St. Pete,” according to co-writer Melanie Bowman. The target audience is women on “girls’ weekends. Mother-daughter trips. Bachelorette parties.”
