This special walking tour will take you on a stroll along the interface between downtown and the Historic Old Northeast, an area within the Downtown National Register Historic District. The neighborhood has a rich collection of historic buildings, particularly those along 4th & 5th Avenues North, giving the neighborhood a special feel and sense of place.

The Burnside residence, pictured above, and located on 5th Ave. N. has a remarkable history of being home to women who made a mark in our community and beyond. It is a threatened local landmark you will learn about on the tour. 

The present boom has brought significant change to this part of downtown with the demolition of a number of historic buildings. Can the neighborhood remain special?
