BurGala™ brings an evening of fellowship, food, entertainment and most importantly, education about social issues related to race relations, equity and equality. The concept is an homage to the popular Met Gala where the theme suggests the dress code (see flyer). Join us to learn about the work of RaceWithoutIsm, Inc. Guest speakers will educate about racial equity and equality from varied perspectives, with a special guest speaker from the Florida Holocaust Museum. Come to hear newly appointed St. Petersburg Poet Laureate Gloria Munoz deliver inspirational poetry. Erica Sutherlin of American Stage will share what it means to be a ‘first’ in her space. Spoken Word artist and instructor Dennis Amadeus will add color and flavor to the evening. RaceWithoutIsm Official Spokesperson, the incomparable Siobhan Monique, will perform. Join in a pow wow and learn about two Native American tribes. Tickets are limited, so act fast!
