Public Screening of the Film "The Right to Read"
April 25, 2024 — 5:30pm-8:00pm

Hosted at the Center

When a child can’t read, their chances of incarceration, homelessness, and unemployment increase. Join us for a screening of "The Right to Read" which shares the stories of an activist, a teacher, and two American families who fight to provide our youngest generation with the most foundational indicator of life-long success: the ability to read. Following the film, you’ll hear testimonials from Seniors in Service Classroom Grandparents who are on the front lines, helping children learn to read in Pinellas County’s most high-need classrooms. Literacy is one of the “greatest civil rights issues of our time” and there is a role for everyone to create change. Come learn more.
