Connect with us

The Found Family Collective is a grassroots multi-cultural, multi-identity group of transgender, gay, lesbian and queer people who are looking to find family to help us survive the ongoing anti-gay, anti-trans and anti-queer culture society is trending toward. Join us at 2pm until sunset.

Are you gay, lesbian, queer or trans and not able or willing to go home to your family for the holiday? Are you looking for Found Family to spend time with, heal with, learn with and grow with? Join us at the Found Family Collective for our first-ever community event:

  • We will speak the true history of "Thanksgiving" by learning about the harm caused and continuing to occur toward Indigenous people.
  • We will discuss lesbian, gay, queer and trans history--and the harm happening to us by culture shifts, lawmakers and courts--and what we are going to do about it.
  • We will feast on food, play games, get to know each other, and find joy and laughter.
  • This will be a political growth and community-healing event, open to all gay, lesbian, bi/ pan, ace, queer, gender non conforming and transgender people: no questions asked.
  • Queer and trans people of color, immigrants, and with disabilities are involved in the planning and encourage others to join.
  • Come as you are! Facility is a queer-affirming church--however, people of all faiths or no faith at all will be welcomed in this space.
  • Donations encouraged--but no one will be turned away.

If your family isn't safe, or you can't be your whole self, or if you wish to just be in community with gay, queer, trans and/or Indigenous people on this "holiday" and celebrate life affirming wellness, instead of death, genocide and domination on this "corporate day off", come join us!

Fun games and activities will be planned for this event.

While this will ultimately be a fun and healing event, we will also discuss the truth about Thanksgiving and Indigenous suffering. We will also discuss some of the violence the gay, lesbian, intersex, queer and trans community is facing. After we've spent time on the heavy topics, we'll have games, a feast, activities, and networking. We will do this to keep each other safe, loved and warm as we build toward future goals of building a strong, sustainable queer community--regardless of laws and cultural shifts.

While donations are encouraged, no one will be turned away. Please RSVP for planning purposes.
