Gulfport’s First Friday Art Walk returns to Beach Boulevard on Friday, April 1 with the second annual In Plein Sight, a themed celebration of the rich and diverse plein air painting community in the region. The event runs from 5pm-9pm alongside the shops, restaurants, and galleries that comprise the town’s cultural hub on Beach Boulevard and is hosted by the Gulfport Merchants Chamber (GMC).

In Plein Sight welcomes emerging and professional plein air painters from across the region to show and sell their work in this scenic arts-loving community, as well as the opportunity to win cash prizes and other considerations. After last year’s highly successful debut of the event, which featured nearly 50 artists, the host GMC is broadening its outreach to artists with the inclusion of a plein air painting class by award- winning plein air painter and instructor Jack Providenti, taking place two days prior to the event.
