Join us at the bookstore on Saturday, April 26th to celebrate INDIE BOOKSTORE DAY 2025!
We will be open our regular hours, 10am - 5:30pm, with fun IBD happenings until 4pm both in the bookstore and out in our courtyard! Special Indie Bookstore Day merch will be available all day while supplies last!
This year we are joined by a very special guest, Rob Sanders, who will be launching his new picture book Book Comes Home: A Banned Book's Journey! Rob will be in the courtyard to sign books and chat with fans, and he will be doing a reading from the book at 11:00am!
We will also be joined by Florida Freedom to Read Project who will have a table in the courtyard and will be collecting banned book and monetary donations to continue the fight against censorship in our state!
More information about vendors and other activities will be announced soon! We hope you will come by and celebrate with us! See you at the bookstore!
More about Book Comes Home
Celebrate the right to read with this kid-friendly picture book that explores book banning from the book’s point of view. From the award-winning author of Pride: The Story of Harvey Milk and the Rainbow Flag.
Book loved being a book.
And she loved the children who came to visit her.
She was checked out.
Read and reread.
Shared and discussed.
And each time, Book was brought back to the library.
It was her home . . . . . . until the day it wasn’t.
Acclaimed author Rob Sanders delivers an insightful and compassionate story about book banning, told from a book’s point of view.
