Marly Music Series: Water Music featuring The Dan Kalosky Quartet

In collaboration with The Nature of Art, the MFA proudly presents The Dan Kalosky Quartet, featuring “Water Music” in an enchanting musical performance. Join us for an afternoon where the transformative power of visual art meets the emotive language of music. The quartet, led by the talented Dan Kalosky, will weave a melodic tapestry inspired by the themes and emotions evoked by the exhibition.

Their program will include:

George Frederick Handel, “Water Music,”(approximately 40 minutes)

George Frederick Handel, “Arrival of the Queen of Sheba,” (approximately 10 minutes)

~Intermission~

Antonio Vivaldi, “Winter,” (approximately 10 minutes)

Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Ein kliene Nachtmusik, (approximately 20 minutes)

Johann Sebastian Bach, Brandonburgh Concerto No. 3 (approximately 15 minutes)

Dmitri Shostakovich, “Waltz No. 2,” (approximately 5 minutes)

A working professional musician since he was twelve years old, Dan Kalosky spent much of his life touring the world, playing in orchestras and Broadway productions on cruise ships. Dan played in Las Vegas for a few years, doing the shows at the Sahara, Nevada Palace, and Circus Circus. He earned his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in music performance from Youngstown State University. Most recently, he received his Certified Music Practitioner degree and is on the staff of music practitioners at St. Joseph’s Hospitals in Tampa, Florida, and also an artist in residence at the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio. Dan plays with the Tampa Bay Symphony, Ocala Symphony, St. Pete Opera, Florida Lyric Opera, and Idlewild Orchestra. He also plays in the pit orchestras at several theaters in the Tampa-St. Pete area, Eight O’clock Theatre, and American Stage, to name a few. He is also very active in the jazz scene and can be seen playing in local restaurants, mostly with the popular “Dan & Wayne Duo.”
