The world is training our kids to scroll, sit, and survive—but not to walk into rooms, talk to adults, or show up and be seen.
The St. Pete Standout is designed to change that.
It's a one‑day, high‑energy leadership and social‑skills challenge for motivated middle and high schoolers, created by an award-winning educator and sponsored and held at USF St. Pete.
Across the day, 100 students rotate through real‑world stations led by local business and community mentors: fast‑paced Skills Sprints, “Work the Room” networking practice, Hot Seat interview questions, and on‑stage final rounds. It’s designed for both kids who tend to shrink back and kids who are already outgoing and need help turning that into real leadership.
Every student ticket also includes six short “missions” families or teachers can use to prepare and practice building the skills—first impressions, conversations, poise under pressure, listening like a leader, reading the room, and handling feedback.
If you want your teen more ready for interviews, conversations, feedback, recommendations, and real‑world opportunities, this is for them.
