THE BEAUTIFUL “B’s” -BRAHMS & BEETHOVEN– Please join us for a wonderful classical program as three virtuosic musicians combine to bring us a true celebration of Johannes Brahms and Ludwig Von Beethoven. Selections will include Brahms Clarinet Trio in A minor, Opus 114, transcribed for violin and Beethoven’s Cello Sonata No. 2 in G minor.
WHO: Michael Klotz is violist with the highly regarded Amernet String Quartet, Ensemble in Residence at Florida International University with his Bachelor degree from the Eastman School of Music and his Masters from Juilliard. He is an acclaimed violist with many worldwide performances and he enjoys collaborating with other leading artists of today.
Grigorios Zamparas received his earliest training and degrees in Greece, followed by his Masters in Music from Indiana University and his Doctorate at the University of Miami. He is a highly acclaimed piano soloist, recitalist and is a Professor of Piano at University of Tampa.
Scott Kluksdahl, Cellist is Professor of Cello at University of South Florida and concertizes widely. He has presented master classes at Eastman School of Music, Indiana Univ., Boston Conservatory, Northwestern Univ. and San Francisco Conservatory of Music and was a founding member of the Lions Gate Trio and performs as cellist of the Veronika String Quartet.
WHERE: Peace Memorial Presbyterian Church (the pink church downtown) 110 S. Ft. Harrison Ave., Clwr. (at corner of Pierce and Ft. Harrison).
CHARGE: No tickets needed and seating is first come, first served. We will take up an offering to help cover future program costs ($5-$10 minimum suggested). Doors open at 2:30.
PARKING/ACCESS: There are four primary areas: 1) directly east across Ft. Harrison in large County lot 2) in lot north of the church fellowship hall 3) directly west in the Old City Hall lot and 4) at the SW corner of Pierce and Osceola in an additional city lot. The city has now started construction of the parking garage in the old shell lot right behind Peace, so this area will be unavailable until the garage is finished. During peak traffic times you may wish to use Myrtle Avenue and access the church by way of Pierce or Park Streets.
