It sounds too good to be true, but a “happiness formula” actually exists, and it is called the Four Noble Truths. This timeless Buddhist wisdom can be accessed by practitioners at any level to understand how to apply meditation to our daily life.
When we experience problems and setbacks we usually respond by feeling unhappy and developing painful minds of anger, depression and discouragement. As a result, we complicate our lives even more. Buddha’s teaching on the Four Noble Truths shows us how to break free from this cycle of unhappiness, by correctly identifying our problems and their causes. On that basis, we can discover what we need to abandon and what practices we should engage in to establish within our minds the path to permanent freedom and happiness.
