Do you have an innovative idea for a social enterprise? Not sure how to put your idea into action? Social Venture Partners’ six-week accelerator program can help bring your pie-in-the-sky idea down to earth.

The Social Innovation Fast Pitch provides free training and mentoring to nail down a business plan, hone a strategy and perfect a three-minute “Fast Pitch” of your idea. Then, groups have the opportunity to present their pitch to a captive audience of influencers and change-makers – and win up to $60,000 in cash prizes.

Last year, 450 attendees watched 13 organizations present their Fast Pitch, and judges chose five organizations to walk away with a piece of the unrestricted $60,000 pie. In its recent State of Nonprofits event, the Foundation for a Healthy St. Petersburg identified the lack of unrestricted funding as a major pain point for the local nonprofit community. This accelerator opportunity not only provides access to unrestricted funds, it also provides important networking opportunities, focused business development planning and access to invaluable business acumen.

Registration for the accelerator opens on June 1 and runs through July 1.  Nonprofits with a social enterprise or an idea for one are encouraged to apply online at www.svptampabay.org. The 2018 Social Venture Partners Tampa Bay Fast Pitch competition will be held October 25 at the Palladium Theater.
